Some of the symbolic imagery:

Ita, wearing a veil, keys and cross at her waist, smiles at a young girl who is playing the flute, as two of her boy students look on, waiting for their own lessons to begin. One boy is mischievous and tempts the dog with a ball, the other is contemplative, resting his elbows on a piece of Celtic embroidery. A dozing cat sits above a stack of tomes; a basket of strawberries is in the foreground and a dove appears to illuminate the background. The Celtic border depicts the word ITA (which in Latin, means "thus.") There are symbols of "three" throughout, including the question posed by one of her most famous students, Brendan the Navigator: What three things does God most love? The answer is below: True faith with a pure heart...a simple, spiritual life...with generous acts of charity.
